Guest Emcee, Sydney Benter, from Local 12 News will join us for the evening. Here is more information about Sydney and her local ties to Cincinnati:

Sydney Benter is a native West Sider who’s thrilled to be back in the Queen City. Sydney first stepped into the Local 12 newsroom as an intern. Now she’s back to report and co-anchor Local 12 News at 10 on Star 64 with Brad Johansen. She returns to Cincinnati by way of WTWO in Terre Haute, Indiana where… she anchored the evening and late news.

Sydney went to Taylor High School in North Bend and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BFA in electronic media and a double major in journalism. In addition to interning at local TV stations in college, Sydney spent a summer interning at CNN World Headquarters in Atlanta.

Her passion for storytelling started at a young age. Sydney grew up performing in school plays and musicals. Her background in theater and her love of writing led her to a career in TV news.

Community involvement is important to Sydney. She’s volunteered with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Sydney enjoys reading, traveling and the fine arts. She loves a good movie and knows more about popular culture than she would like to admit. She’s a big fan of Cincinnati cuisine and is happy to be back in the land of Skyline Chili and Graeter’s ice cream.
