The customers at the Lois Brown Dale Adult Day Services Program had a special treat on July 10 thanks to the generosity of Crossroads Hospice and the Simpson family. Customers were able to participate in the Kentucky Speedway racing event to celebrate NASCAR weekend at the Speedway. Tom Simpson, car builder, brought two cars to the center on Friday but the most popular feature of the program was definitely his little girl, Madison. Madison Simpson, 7, races quarter midgets at area asphalt tracks and she arrived in full race gear for all to see. She immediately captured the hearts of the ADS customers who couldn’t believe she races at her age. In addition to the two race cars that were available to view, customers had a full day of themed activities and a display of racing memorabilia. Participants were also given special lanyards from Crossroads Hospice to commemorate the event. Crossroads Hospice and the Simpson family are looking forward to another NASCAR themed event next year.
