In 2016, the Meals on Wheels program at Clermont Senior Services distributed more than 74,000 meals! Most of those meals are delivered to the customer in a box containing 5 frozen meals. The customer then has the opportunity to heat the meals in their microwave at their convenience. The majority of home delivered meals are delivered by volunteers, in turn, saving the agency a substantial amount of money. Occasionally, delivery drivers will meet a customer who either has no microwave or they may have a broken microwave. In some cases, those customers cannot afford to purchase the new appliance leaving them unable to warm their meals. In the past, generous community members have donated microwaves which are then distributed to those in need within the community. The supply is nearing the end and we are requesting our generous community to, once again, help us stock our kitchen with microwaves for our customers who would otherwise go without.
One way to donate a microwave is to shop at amazonsmile.com. When you select Clermont Senior Services as your charity of choice, a portion of your purchase will be given to us, to continue the important work of protecting the older population in Clermont County.
Feel free to have the microwave shipped directly to our administrative office, we’ll ensure your donation is in good hands! 2085 James E Sauls Sr. Drive Batavia, OH 45103
Our agency would not be able to serve nearly 5,000 older adults without our community! Thank you!
