Thus far in 2019, Clermont Senior Services has delivered over 74,000 meals to home-bound seniors in Clermont County. This program ensures that our most vulnerable seniors are receiving at least one nutritious, hot meal each and every day, in order to thrive in their own homes.
Years ago, meals were prepared and delivered hot to customers every day. While nice for the customer, it proved to be very taxing on resources and, at times, presented quality issues. A change needed to be made and a viable solution was found which utilized a local food service company. Now, Meals on Wheels customers receive a menu from which they can choose from over 30 options. Meals are delivered to the home frozen, allowing the customer to receive all their meals at one time, once each week.
Due to the nature of the frozen meals, microwaves are needed to heat the meal. Occasionally, Clermont Senior Services will encounter a customer, for whatever reason, is unable to obtain a working microwave. If possible, Clermont Senior Services tries to provide that customer with the needed appliance.
The current supply of microwaves is running low and Clermont Senior Services is asking for your help. Unfortunately, used microwaves that aren’t in the original sealed package, cannot be accepted.
