Clermont Senior Services is looking for caring people that would be willing to donate 2-3 hours of their time each month, advocating for a senior in need through our Volunteer Guardian Program.
It is often assumed we will have someone to take care of our needs if we become unable to manage them for ourselves. The truth is, there are seniors around us with mental incapacities that have no one willing or able to assist them in their daily affairs. They are alone, and they need your help.
Individuals served by the Volunteer Guardian Program are 60 years of age or older, reside in a nursing facility or other group care setting, and have some type of mental incapacity.
Here are a few ways you will benefit from this position: giving of yourself to a senior in need, learning new information through initial and ongoing trainings, becoming familiar with nursing facilities, hospitals, and interacting with the staff of those facilities.
This Volunteer Guardian position is for “Guardian of Person” only – that means you would have no financial responsibility for the senior.
Please contact Kathy Angel, Volunteer Coordinator, to become a Volunteer Guardian or to learn more about the process.
