The Clermont Senior Services, Annual Meeting was held April 27, at the Lois Brown Dale Welcome Center. The evening began with a welcome message from Cindy Gramke, Clermont Senior Services, CEO. A delicious dinner followed, catered by, Golden Rule. Outgoing Chairman of the Board, Bob Manning, reflected on 2016 touching on the highlights of the year which included the passage of the senior services levy. The gavel was ceremoniously passed from Bob Manning to incoming Board Chairman, Sam DeBonis. Sam spoke of his goals for the agency as he embarks on his two year term which include addressing the need for affordable senior housing in Clermont County.
Connie Bare and Mary Jane West were recognized as their 8 year term of service to the Board came to an end. Several new board members were recognized, including: Jeff Bauer (Dean at UC Clermont College), Keith Kral (Senior V.P. at Peoples Bank) and Ken James (President at Clermont Mercy Hospital – Mercy East).
Perhaps the most touching moment of the evening occurred when the Patricia A. Scherer Caregiver Award was announced. Mrs. Scherer was in attendance to receive this award in her honor. Pat was close friends with Clermont Senior Services Founder, Lois Brown Dale. Pat facilitated the first-ever Caregiver Support Group at Clermont Senior Services. To honor her commitment to serve and care for those around her, this award was created. Each year at the Annual Meeting, a deserving Caregiver will be recognized and the legacy of Patricia A. Scherer will continue.
