2nd Annual Consumer Protection & Elder Fraud Forum

For the second year in a row, an impressive panel gathered to alert the community to the latest trends in fraud. The event was generously sponsored by Park National Bank. Some of the many tips that were offered included the following:

Medicare will NEVER call you.
Be wary of salespeople trying to sell you something they claim will be paid for by Medicare.
Protect your Medicare number as you do your credit card numbers, do not allow anyone to use your number.
Be cautious when clicking on email links, always do your research.
Lottery phone scams are popular – if you didn’t play, you didn’t win. It is also illegal to play/win a lottery in another country.
